We’re back!

I had a wonderful time at the RWA National conference. Liz Kreger and I had a road trip, from Wisconsin to Kentucky, where we picked up Sheila Clover English, then on to Orlando for the conference. Ours had a much better ending than Thelma and Louise’s. I got to hang with and talk with Michelle Diener, Karin Tabke, Cynthia Eden (who won 2 prism awards!), Marilyn Brant, Therese Walsh, Amy Atwell, and many, many more. We even went to Harry Potter Theme Park, drank butterbeer (dreamy!) and went on the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride (awesome!).

My husband, dogs and cat are happy that I returned. I have a ton of emails and a suitcase full of laundry to take care of. I’m excited and filled with energy. I want to write great books, and I want to read great books. I kept getting ideas for blogs, and I will write them — but not today. Today I need to catch up with my life.

I’m posting a note from Liz and then Zoe Winters’ Episode 2 video. Episode 1 and Episode 3 are up, too.

Here’s Liz:

Sorry I didn’t get my post up on Monday. Spend the entire day traveling from Florida and the RWA Nat’l Conference. Will give a full report next Monday . . . . including how I broke my foot.

Has anything exciting happened to you these last ten days? Share, please. I want to know.

  1. Mary Jo says:

So glad you had a great time. We missed you here and look forward to your news.

  2. Liz broke her foot? Ugh. That brings back horrible memories of when I fell down the stairs right before getting on the road to Moonlight and Magnolias. My ankle wasn’t broken, but it was about the size of a cantalope.

Glad to see you ladies are back and had an awesome time. I was about to hold LaDonna for ransom while I hijack the blog.

Oh, and some good news is coming for me…all in due time. :)

  3. LaDonna says:

Hey Edie, YAY you’re back! Things were quiet when you were gone, and I suspect more than half our readers were strolling the halls with yas. And I love that you’re brimming with ideas too! Poor Liz, hope her foot heals quickly.

No much in the news dept, just plugging along, singing a song.

  4. Edie Ramer says:

Mary Jo, I wish you could’ve been at the WF get-together. It was one of the highlights of the conference.

  5. Edie Ramer says:

Marcia, you can hijack MM anytime. I’m eager to hear your good news! If you knew some of the stuff I’m thinking right now, you would be either very excited or very scared.

  6. Edie Ramer says:

LaD, I think it was quiet all over the blogosphere in the romance category. I hope Liz heals quickly too.

  7. Josh Healy says:

  8. Edie!!! I’m so glad I finally got to meet you in person — and Michelle, too — though the time was far too brief with you both! Liz, I’m so, so sorry about your foot — hope it will heal quickly — and I hope I’ll have a chance to meet you next time.

I am so unbelievably NOT caught up with everything here yet (I know what you mean about the emails and the laundry, Edie…), but I just wanted to say hi to the MM gang and wish you all a great week. :)

  9. Edie Ramer says:

Marilyn, meeting you in person was one of the highlights of the conference. Thanks for stopping by and saying hi. Hope your week is great too.

  10. Elle J Rossi says:

Welcome back and glad to hear you had a great time and feel inspired!

  11. Edie Ramer says:

Elle, I hope you’ll make it another year. You’ll love it!

  12. Liz Kreger says:

Yep … that conference was quite the adventure. And one that I’ll share next week. Still recovering and clearing the decks to get my rear in gear.

Sorry I missed you, Marilyn. Edie mentioned she caught up with you. It was terrific seeing all the fabulous authors and making new friends. I was amazed at how many people were there for the first time. I guess its hard to resist Florida … no matter how hot it was.

  13. Edie Ramer says:

Liz, I still haven’t gotten to my laundry. There were people I missed seeing, too. Next year we’ll catch up with them.

  14. Zoe Winters says:

I would have loved to have gone to meet some of you! Also, thanks for the shout out!

  15. Edie Ramer says:

Zoe, next year’s conference is in NY. It should be fabulous, though they probably won’t have butterbeer.

  16. It was so great seeing you, Edie! Wish I could have talked to you more. It was a really good conference. I met so many wonderful people.

  17. Edie Ramer says:

Lori, so great to see you, too. I wish I could’ve gone karaoking with you (I know, it’s not a verb, but I don’t care). Next year in NY. I’ll practice my singing.

  18. OMG, Zoe’s video is hysterical! Loved it! :D

So glad you all had a great time and made it there and back safely. :)

  19. Edie Ramer says:

Hi Betsy! Yes, despite our travails (which Liz will talk about on Monday), we had a great time.

  20. Zoe Winters says:

Thanks, Kate! The fourth episode is up on my youtube channel now: http://www.youtube.com/user/ZoeWinters1
