Update: Thank you all for the wonderful comments!! I had a great time chatting with you! The winners were randomly selected, and those winners are…
10 WINNERS OF BOUND BY THE NIGHT–Tony, Tina Rugg, Tracey Q, Petula, Dina, Samantha Atkin, Mel K, Brenda B, Crystal GB, and Willa
The winner of the ANGEL BETRAYED early copy is — Mary McKee
Congrats!!
In my new release, BOUND BY THE NIGHT, my heroine has been “dead to the world” for the last fifteen years. She’s a vampire, and a powerful curse kept her frozen in a rather unfortunate state that made her appear dead. Time rolled right by my heroine. She missed the huge develops that the Digital Age has brought to us.
Fifteen years. On the surface, that doesn’t really seem like a great deal of time. Not when compared to say, one hundred years. But think about your life fifteen years ago. Compare it to life today. No iPhones. No e-readers. No Skyping with friends who live far away. Heck, no Facebook. Yes, I said no Facebook!
Ah, life was sure different fifteen years ago. Since my heroine is a gadget girl, I think she’d love exploring all of the new gadgets that are out there (and it seems like new gadgets are developing every day). But tell me…of all the great developments that we’ve had in the last fifteen years, what do you love the most? What invention or system or what-have-you makes your life better?
I’ll give away ten copies of BOUND BY THE NIGHT to random commenters (these can be copies for the Kindle or Nook). I also will give away an early copy of ANGEL BETRAYED (due out on 6/26/12 from Kensington Brava). The contest will run until midnight, and I’ll be back early on 5/3/12 to announce the winners. Thanks!
(And as for the invention that I wouldn’t want to live without…put me down for the iPhone. I even gave up my home line b/c I always have the iPhone with me. Built-in GPS, a phone that talks to me and answers all my questions, a camera, a gadget with “Face Time”–come on, this baby is magic!)
For the last fifteen years, vampire queen Iona has been dead to the world. Trapped under the power of a brutal curse, she has been helpless. A prisoner, locked within her own still body. Then alpha werewolf Jamie O’Connell fights his way to her side. After defeating the guards that surround her, Jamie gives Iona his blood…and she rises.
The world has changed a great deal in the last fifteen years, and Iona has changed, too. Once known as the Blood Queen because of her dark reputation, she now finds herself longing for the blood of only one man…only he isn’t just a man. She wants the blood of her werewolf—Jamie’s blood. But Iona doesn’t realize that Jamie has been keeping secrets from her. Very dark, dangerous secrets. And Iona may have traded one curse for another.
Now that he has Iona, Jamie vows to never let her go. He needs his Blood Queen in order to defeat his enemy, he needs her to make his own beast stronger, and…he just needs her. Jamie has risked his life to claim Iona, and he won’t let anything break their bond. Not time. Not spells. Not even a wild and reckless vampire queen…

Hmmm – well I have to say I love my GPS system. Sit back, cruise along and have some dulcet toned male guide me through the traffic.
And just as in real life – he is not always right
. . . but he doesn’t answer back to a little snark
LOL, Willa, love your answer!! I’m thinking about trying to change the voice of my GPS. I want that dulcet male tone!
I’m so eager to read Iona’s story. Love the premise.
I wouldn’t want to do without my Kindle. I take it with me to a lot of places. I carry a library around with me.
Edie, I just have so much more space in my house b/c of my Kindle! My bookshelves were crazy, but now…oh, that Kindle. So sweet and small.
Cynthia, this story sounds so fun! I can’t wait to download it to my Kindle Fire. Before I had my Fire, I would have named my iPod as my favorite gadget…love having my tunes with me everywhere I go, but now I have my tunes on the Fire as well as my books, apps and Internet radio. If I could somehow combine a Blackberry and the Fire, I’d never need another gadget.
I’m off to grab a copy of Iona’s story. I’ll read it while I’m on the road today.
Thank you, Misty! Hope you have a good trip! And now you’ve got me wanting to put tunes on my Fire. I haven’t done that! I’m behind. I’ve only used it to read books. I need to do so much more!
I am a new fan of your books. I can’t wait to finish them all. Bound By The Night sounds like another great book. The concept is new and fresh, and a little darker than your other books that I’ve read. Great Job!!
Hi, Kimi!
Thanks so much for coming by! Sometimes, I really do like to go dark with books. I have to catch myself and stop! Once, I was doing a holiday anthology for Kensington, my editor specifically told me, “No serial killers! This is a happy story!”
This looks great! I’d be lost without all the technology we have now! Love my Nook!
Isn’t it just crazy how fast technology has exploded? When I think about all of our recent advances, I’m amazed.
I downloaded your first book for free & was addicted at once! I have since purchased most of your books…keep writing I love your fast paced stories!
Thank you, Spree! I’m so glad you enjoy the stories!
Yay! I’ve been waiting for this one
I love my laptop! Couldn’t live w/out my computer b/c the thought of using a typewriter *shudder* Hmm, I also love my kindle!
Thanks, Katie! I learned to type on an old style type-writer. I still remember using liquid paper to try and fix my mistakes. So glad things have changed!!
My absolute favorite thing is the iphone, too! Can’t imagine life without it! We’re a military family, so it’s great to be able to use Facetime.
My next favorite invention…digital coupons! I love having the coupons on my store cards. No more cutting and sorting. Saves me time…which I then get to use reading!
Thanks for the chance to win a copy of Bound By the Night.
Thanks for entering the giveaway, Michelle! As I’m typing this, I’m casting quick, loving glances at my iPhone.
Bound By The Night sounds awesome. I love my laptop and my kindle fire. I love all the technological advances that have been made.
Thanks, Crystal!! All of these advances have made life so much easier–love them!
The book sounds great something I would read in a heartbeat. Favorite gadget was my laptop can’t live without it, but after getting a Fire. Love it goes everywhere with me.
And, Brenda, I love that the Fire can fit easily into a purse. Convenient!!! And I’m so glad you like the sound of the book. Thank you!
What do I love? My family of course
my kindle can’t live without it. My bed and of course my imagination where I can dream about all the beautiful men I read about.
Great answer, Samantha! The technology is just bonus–family, now that’s life and love!
You are on my list of authors to check out. I haven’t read any of your books yet, but plan to start. Do you have any recommendations on which one I should start with? As for the invention I could not live without, I would say my smart phone. I kept telling my techie husband we didn’t need them (trying to be money conscious) but as soon as I got one I fell in love with it and love how connected I can be to friends and family on it via facebook, twitter, email, texting, etc. I am a Nook owner, but love being able to have both the Nook and Kindle app on my phone so I can read anywhere!
Hi, Amy! I’m excited to be on your list!
To get a taste of my work, you may want to start with my first Bound novella, BOUND BY BLOOD–it’s available for .99.
And like you, I love being able to keep up with folks on Twitter and Facebook!
I just downloaded it to my Nook. I look forward to starting it soon. I am can’t wait to try out your Romantic Suspense books, too! Thanks!
Amy, Bound By Blood is excellent. So much tenstion and suspension. You’ll love it!
Tension and suspense. Obviously, I have not had enough caffeine this morning.
The funny thing is, Missy, I didn’t even notice the words being incorrect until you pointed them out. It is going to be one of those days. I finished Bound by Blood already and really liked it. It makes you thirsty.
I’m looking forward to the release of Cynthia Eden’s Angel Betrayed
Thank you!! I’m wishing that release date would hurry up and get here!
I will never give up my home phone, lol.
congrats on your newest release
Dina`s last blog was …THE VAMPIRE SHRINK by Lynda Hilburn
Thank you, Dina!
I could not live without my mobile. I still remember phoning my friends from my kitchen chatting away about school and now we can talk anywhere. Also another reason why my mobile is great, when you are late you can sent a text before you just had to wait and didn’t know what to think! P.S I also love my kindle and I can’t wait for the release of Angel Betrayed.
I love that you can always contact folks and let them know where you are (esp. when running late). If I’d had one of these when I was a teenager, my mom would have worried much less!
And thank you!
I love all of your books. i just bought bound by the night and can’t wait to read it.
My favorite gadget is my kindle. I don’t get caught out without a book anymore because i take it everywhere.
Thank you, Charlotte!! I hope you enjoy the story! And isn’t it awesome that we can always have books with the Kindle? Easy to carry. Convenient! Love e-readers!
I love books! My husband & son are sports fanatics. I am not! I don’t know what I would do without my books & all those delicious heroes to keep me company when they are out doing their thing.
And I love your books! Niol is my favorite! Don’t enter me in the giveaway. I buy your books as soon as they come out so I’ve already got it.
I forgot to say my Kindle is what I couldn’t live without. You can have my phone, TV, whatever else but not my Kindle.
LOL, love that!
Thank you, Tonya!! I loved writing Niol–such a fun, bad guy. I had the best time writing about him!
I love my iPhone, too! My sister is in Istanbul and I’m in Australia, and we love to Facetime. And I love how easy it is to get my email, I love the maps, love the sync with my iTunes. Love. It.
Michelle Diener`s last blog was …Over at Murder She Writes Today (there is a giveaway)
Oh, forgot to say I bought Bound by the Darkness today, Cynthia. Looking forward to reading it!

Facetime is the best!! I’m so glad you and your sister can connect that way. (And thank you!)
I am 56 years old and must admit to not being much of a gadget geek. I don’t even have a computer just my blackberry smartphone and my WONDERFUL kindle that my son bought me. It is that I could not live without now . I have always been a book worm.
I think being a book worm is the best way to be!
The internet and smartphones. It lets me shop without walking into a store, books to read in seconds, news before the newscasters even mention it, and a way to keep in touch with friends (old and new) and family.
(I already have a copy of Bound by the Night but I’d love to win Angel Betrayed!)
Eva / TXBookjunkie`s last blog was …"Lothaire" Book Tour
Hi, Eva! I love the ease of the Internet, too. Especially during the holidays…avoiding the long lines is always bonus!
My iPhone! I love my iPhone! It is my diary. And I love playing ANGRY BIRDS.
Me, too! That game is so addictive! (I even had to put an Angry Birds reference in BOUND BY THE NIGHT!)
I have to go with iPhone. I can check my fb, my mail, phone and text, all pretty much at the same time
It’s got my music on, which is invaluable in dance world. It tells me where I am and how to get where I am going. And once I get there, I can relax and read my book which i’ve downloaded from amazon, say, bound by the night!
I was going to say my digital camera because of all the money I’ve saved on film developing but they’ve been around slightly more than 15 years. So I would have to go with my iPhone. It is my camera, ereader when I forget my Kindle, mp3 player, gaming console, FB portal and sometimes I make a rare call with it too!
Tracey, I had to laugh when I read your line about making a rare call with it–sometimes, I feel like I use my iPhone for everything but making calls! Then a week will pass…and I’ll use it for ONE call…
* Laughs * Funny you mention an iphone. Yesterday was suppose to upgrade my sprint rumor to an iphone but hubby’s ride decided to be a giant ass and not take him. Hehe I was sort of looking forward to Siri. LOL. The boys play with hubby’s all the time.
So sorry the ride was an ass, Raonaid! Not cool!
Cynthia, I would have to say my IPad! It’s my new addiction…. I very rarely ever need to use a real computer anymore
I have my texts, contacts, I can email, browse websites, play games and play them with my actual friends frm Facebook too! My hunky, sexy heros and monsters are always with me on my Kindle app. I can get directions where I need to go, watch movies & listen to music or audiobooks!!! I can honestly say I’m an IPad whore for lack of a better word. Who needs the real world when I can be virtual all the time? I would be utterly devastated if anything happened to my favorite toy
~
Okay, Tina, now you’ve got me wanting an IPad!! Jealous!!
Cynthia, I would have to agree!!! I couldn’t live without my iPhone!!! Crazy how we’re so addicted to these type of things!!! LOL!! Luv your Bound series!!! Congrats on your new release!!! Can’t wait to read Bound By The Night!!!
Thank you, Tonya! Do you get twitchy if you go too long w/o your phone? I’ve started to notice twitches…
am going to dl “Bound in night” today. looking to your new angel. have enjoyed your books over the years. keep up the good writing for future books & i will keep reading.
Thank you very, very much, Mary!
Def. my Iphone. Just got it about 3 months ago and now I can’t live without it! Congrats on the book release!
Thank you, Lori!
Cynthia,
. These are both necessities now, LOL.
Congrats on the release of Bound by the Night!!
As for technology I can’t live without…my iPod and our car’s GPS system
Thank you, Marilyn!! I don’t know how I existed before the GPS–I was probably just wandering around, always lost…
For all the same reasons as everyone else and because my son bought it for me my kindle fire. Looking forward to your new release.
You have a fantastic son, Pamk!
Hi Cynthia –
.
.
I’m just here to offer support
Good luck everyone, and to answer the question I’d be lost w/o my computer
You are too good, Viki!! Thanks for coming by!
Let’s see, I love my husband…..and my family…..and myself, but
if it has to be an invention, then it will have to a toss-up between
my laptop and the printing press! My laptop which keeps me
connected with the world’s computer users and the printing
press which brings me BOOKS!!!
Pat C.
LOL, love your answer Pat!
For me it would have to be the Ipod… I remember the days of portable CD players and trying to use those while I would walk. My music was always skipping
Please don’t put me in for BOUND BY THE NIGHT, I have already bought my copy and loved it!!!! I love this series!!!! Please put in for ANGEL BETRAYED!!! This is another great series!!!!
Michele, I remember those CD players! (Hmmmm…I may still have one around here!). And I’m so glad you enjoyed Bound by the Night! Thank you!!
Love the convenience of my cell phone and the GPS. I do a bit of traveling via car and having someone tell me where to go is a life saver. Never did like reading maps.
Congrats on your release. Looking forward to reading it, Cyn.
Thank you, Liz! And I’m terrible at reading maps. A hopeless case!
I would definitely choose my iPhone too. I was late to the smart phone bandwagon, in fact, I was late getting a cell phone too. I finally got a cell phone about 10 years ago, after my sister had been through about six or seven of them, at least. I finally got an iPhone just six months ago. How did I ever live without this thing? I couldn’t imagine ten years ago that I even had a use for a cell phone, until I started having to drive a longer distance on the freeway to work. That’s why I finally got one, in case of emergencies. Now, if I didn’t have my phone, it would be an emergency.
Barbara, isn’t it great to have the security of the phone–especially if you’re driving on a long, dark road late at night? Love that!
I couldn’t live without the internet. The book sounds very good.
Thank you!
I can’t go anywhere without my cell phone – it’s a very basic one but I have a son with special needs, and I need to be in touch with his teachers.
Oh, Jacki, it is great that the phone helps you to keep in touch in case any emergencies occur!
I guess I am behing the times. I have no e-reader, no cell phone and no GPS. Maybe someday.
Life is just as good without the gadgets. I bet you’ve got plenty to keep you hopping!
thank you!
Dina`s last blog was …THE VAMPIRE SHRINK by Lynda Hilburn
Thank you for the copy of BOUND BY THE NIGHT, Cynthia! I sincerely appreciate it.
LOL! Can’t wait to read the reference to Angry Birds. Get Angry Birds Space. It’s a trip!
Squeeeeeeeeeeeeee! many thanks Cynthia
