Review: Wicked Nights by Gena Showalter

Book info:

Title: Wicked Nights
Author: Gena Showalter
Publisher: Harlequin
Published: June 26th 2012.

Book Description:

Leader of the most powerful army in the heavens, Zacharel has been deemed nearly too dangerous, too ruthless—and if he isn’t careful, he’ll lose his wings. But this warrior with a heart of ice will not be deterred from his missions at any cost…until a vulnerable human tempts him with a carnal pleasure he’s never known before.
Accused of a crime she did not commit, Annabelle Miller has spent four years in an institution for the criminally insane. Demons track her every move, and their king will stop at nothing to have her. Zacharel is her only hope for survival, but is the brutal angel with a touch as hot as hell her salvation—or her ultimate damnation?

My thoughts:

This is the first book in her new Angels of the Dark Series.

Personally I really use to love Gena Showalter books, I would buy any book she wrote regardless of what it was. However lately I would have what you could describe as a divorce from her books, after one book too many that I didn’t like.

However, Wicked Nights brought me back, welcome back Gena Showalter books into my life. I have to admit I only picked up the book for it’s cover, not thinking that I would love this book.

So, on to what the book is about. The premise is based on what seems to be the flavour of the moment for paranormal books -angels.

Zacharel is the leader of the most powerful army in the heavens. If you like you hero’s dark, brooding, ice cold and ruthless, then Zacharel is the one for you. Can I start his fan club now? He’s definately an alpha male with a Capital A.

Annabelle Miller has been locked in a institution for a crime she didn’t commit. She sees demons but doesn’t know what they are. Demons are after her, but she doesn’t know why.

When stubborn, strong willed Annabelle meets uncaring Zacharel – sparks fly. Add to that the twist involving the Lords of the Underworld, and you have a book that has me eagerly awaiting the next book.
