Things That Make Me Happy (And Giveaway)

Update:  Our “Happy” winner is Shannon! Congrats!!!

It’s spring! The very first, wonderful day of spring!

For the last week, my blue car has been a dark shade of yellow, courtesy of all the pollen floating in the air. I wash the car, again and again, and that sweet yellow comes back. Ah, spring! 😉

Actually, despite my moaning over the pollen, I love this time of year. My azaleas are blooming,  it’s not pitch dark at 5:00 in the evening anymore, and I can finally open my windows during the day to let fresh air sweep inside (and it’s not cold air–score!).

So, with spring here, I thought I’d share a list of thing that make me happy.

1. Sunshine on my nose.

2. Sand between my toes.

3. A good book in my hand.

4. Some tasty chocolate in my mouth.

Uh, oh, hold up…I think I might be describing my favorite kind of day at the beach.  Well, that *does* make me happy.

What makes you happy?  Come on, share with me!  One commenter will win a $10 or B& gift card.

A lot of things make me happy right now. My kids are on Spring Break so I get a day or two off work and I just finished beta reading Misty Evans’ next Kali Sweet story. Demons (including a hot Archdemon and sexy Chaos Demon), Angels, Vampires, Shifters, Witches, a Goddess, and even Lucifer himself. Misty’s books always make me happy. Now if only we could get the temps up in Illinois I would be VERY happy. At least the sun is shining! Oh, and I agree about it not being dark at 5:00 anymore!

When you buy a new car, you should make it yellow. You’ll never know it’s pollen until you drive off. lol And yellow is a happy color even when it’s cold out.

I love the first time I can open the window, and you can smell the fresh air. Of course I love many other things – some of which I can’t say here. lol A good book is always on that list. The sound of my cat purring. Music. Walking outside on that perfect spring day… I can go on and on, so I’ll just stop there.

Books make very happy, seeing my nephew happy makes me happy!

The number one thing would be my son. He is two and just so adorable and growing everyday. I love the stuff he comes up with in his little mind. Also good books and a long hot bath make me happy. Finally nice weather would make me really happy, hopefully it will be here soon.

  5. Happy first day of spring!!
Cynthia, you already mentioned chocolate…but, for me, that’s worth saying again! And music and dancing and reading/writing…and pizza and old movies and time spent with those I love ;).

Aaaahhh. Spring is always a plus … except we still have about six inches of snow here in Wisconsin. Not so Springy right now. Even the temperatures are hovering at the 20 to 30 degree mark. A very disappointing first day of Spring.

    Personally, things I love include:

    Summer. Love warm weather.

Sitting undisturbed under the umbrella on the back patio viewing my lovely garden while reading a book with a nice glass of super sweet iced tea in my hand. Bliss! 😎

That first few seconds when you crawl into bed after a hard day and just sigh with relief. Particularly with the kitty cuddles up next to you.

My daughter, of course. Chattering with her is always a joy. Especially since she’s at that age (13 yrs. old) when those nonsense conversations are slowly petering out.

    Finishing a WIP. 😉

Six inches of snow? Wow! I don’t know if I should be jealous or if I should sympathize! We didn’t see any snow in Mobile this year. Just lots and lots and lots of rain. I think we may have officially become the rainiest city in the U.S.

  7. Some of things that make me happy are; books of course, a good comedy (probably anything with Adam Sandler is a guarantee lol), hanging out with my friends and family, and yummy yellow or indian curry! Thanks for the giveaway!!

No matter how many books I have, getting new books with all the possibilities of getting lost in a new story makes me happy. Spending time with my son at an amusement park or just watching a movie makes me happy as well. 😀
