The State of Tabke Address

Hey, it beats watching the news.  ^_~  For some of us anyway.

So, this girl is on fire.  So is my family.  My eldest daughter and her husband just had their first (and after a harrowing delivery that nearly killed me) and probably only child, G-baby #3, the adorable Audrey Rose.

My youngest son and his lovely wife finally let me tell the world they are expecting their first baby, my 4th grand-baby in February.  It’s going to be a bittersweet delivery.  My son will be deployed when his first child is born.  I’m heartbroken for him, but his words to me were, “Mom, I knew what I was signing up for when I became a Marine. Now suck it up.”  Whatever!  Thank goodness for Skype, right?

My referral business (27 years this October) that I rebooted (after a 6 year absence to write) January 1st of this year is solidly back in the black and growing at a nice pace each month.

My friend, an author some of you may have heard of, Sylvia Day (^_~) dragged my sorry ass to RT this past April and literally forced my writing mojo out from where it had been hiding  for the last year down  my throat with explicit instructions not to skulk away again.  Hence THE DARE blossomed to life in our hotel room, and once it caught fire, this girl was on fire!  After assembling an amazing production team, we’re going live next week.  I should have the final cover today and if I get it, I’ll post it here.

Needless to say, after years of writing back to back deadlines, I burned out, then got lazy and with a plethora of events happening around me, many out of my control, I had nothing left at the end of the day for the story.  But good friends are good friends for a reason, and my girl forced me kicking and screaming back to the keyboard, and I could not be happier or more thankful.

THE DARE is the first book in a series of four.  It’s a contemporary erotic romance with the signature Tabke hot cop.  I told my husband after I wrote the first draft that I was cheating on him with one of my characters.  I’ve never told him that before.  It felt good to come clean.  ^_~

Here’s the blurb for THE DARE:

I dare you…

Dr. Katrina Winslow has always known who she is; an elite scientist, a certifiable genius and ultra-reserved when it comes to love and relationships. So when a simple game of truth or dare offers the cool doctor the opportunity to shed her lab coat and glasses and put on a pair of sexy stilettos, she accepts the dare.  But will shedding her inhibitions fulfill her every desire and help her discover if she can be truly daring or will it cost her everything?

Two men, one a sexy stranger, and a night of no holds barred passion…

What would you dare to do?

THE DARE: The Chronicles of Katrina (Book One) by Karin Tabke

***Author’s Note: This is book one of a four part series.***

I’m going to give away three digital copies.  Kindle or Nook you pick if you win.  All you have to do is tell me if you’ve ever played Truth or Dare.  I’ll pick three random commenters on Friday and post the names here in the comment section and on Facebook, which if you are not already friends with me, you should be!

Happy Hump Day!!
