Cover Joy!

Well, I’m feeling really lucky right now. The cover for my August 1st release, IN DEFENSE OF THE QUEEN, was finished yesterday, and I absolutely love it. Not only that, I got the hardcover edition of the Czech translation of Keeper of the King’s Secrets in the post the other day, and some advance reading copies (with the plain ARC cover, though, not the final cover image) of my upcoming October 22nd release, Banquet of Lies. Things are happening! :)

I really love it when I have the cover or an actual copy in my hands. There is something about it that makes everything more real, and fires me up to write and feeds my creativity.

To celebrate my wonderful haul of cover and book riches, I’m giving away a $10 amazon gift card to a lucky commenter. I’d like you to name a book you’ve recently seen or read that had a cover that really drew you in.

The covers are beautiful! I was lucky enough to read IN DEFENSE OF THE QUEEN already, and I LOVE it! I’m so glad it’s coming out soon!

I see so many wonderful covers, it’s hard to choose one. Dale Mayer does her own covers, and I think she does an amazing job.

Oh oh oh…I saw a cover recently that took my breath away! Gone South, by Meg Mosley. It is one of my favorite covers of all time! The cover alone tells a vivid story–and I can’t wait to read what’s inside. :)

Congrats on your cover of In Defense of the Queen! Gorgeous! And I look forward to the cover reveal of Banquet of Lies.

Thank you for the opportunity to win the amazon card. :)

    • Thanks for stopping by, Cheryl! I absolutely love it when a cover enthrals me and makes me desperate to read the book.

Thanks for the kind words on In Defense of the Queen!

We’ve just let people add our blog to the RSS feed of their choice, but I’ve added a floating follow button. It should appear in the right hand corner!

Loving the covers, I love when the model and everything comes together so nicely.

Recently I fell in love with Sophie Jordan\’s How to Lose a Bride in One Night book cover.

Congrats, Michelle. Lovely covers, and I’m so envious of your hardback edition–even if I cannot read Czech. I’ve seen lots of awesome covers, a few of my favorites are the re-releases of Lara Adrian’s Dragon Chalice series. The books are historical paranormals featuring shape-shifters. The covers are yummy, and definitely build the curiosity with a combination of images. Covers can be SO important–and yours are gorgeous.

I love your covers, Michelle! There are so many neat covers out there. I admit that I actually sometimes scroll through the giveaways on Goodreads and enter based on the covers! I look forward to reading In Defense of the Queen. It sounds like another fun story for Susanna & John. I am curious, though – when are they going to be married? The blurb called Parker her “betrothed” again.

As for covers that have caught my eye lately…that is tough because so many out there are great. I think Edie’s cover to Hearts in Motion really fit her book. I really like the Entangled Bliss covers. They are all so sweet, just like the stories in them!

Congrats on more books coming out, Michelle!

Amy, Laura Morrigan did my cover. She is so good at knowing what’s right for a book. I’m glad you like it, too!

    • Thanks, Amy! And LOL about Susanna and Parker. They’re waiting for her parents to arrive, but by the end of In Defense of the Queen, they are close to ditching that idea :)

And yes, Edie’s covers are awesome! And its no surprise, because we have the same cover designer. :)

What a gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous cover, Michelle. Congrats. The colors are so rich and vivid. Eye-catching.

Personally, I really like the cover of our anthology, “Entangled”. Love the colors and its different. I also like a lot of the UF covers. They’re dark, mysterious, but can be rather repetitive.

  7. Anne says:

the cover is gorgeous. Congratulations and enjoy this wonderful celebration. A cover that is captivating and special is A Spear of Summer Grass by Deanna Raybourn.

  8. Dale Mayer says:

Wow Michelle – those are stunning. This book should hit the ground running with this to promote it!

Laura continues to out great covers. There are just so many how there – there’s no way to pick one. I love historical covers because they ones I don’t make!

I recently read Austenland and the cover was absolutely adorable! It fit the novel so perfectly!

I really like the cover of In Defense of the Queen, congrats! A cover that really drew me in recently is a book I just ordered – Romulus Buckle & the City of the Founders. It’s a steampunk tale and there is really a lot going on in the cover, including a Sunset Blvd sign, a zeppelin, a city in ruins and a back view of the main character. :D

  11. gorgeous covers, Michelle, just gorgeous.

2 books that I picked up because of the covers were WARRIOR OF THE ISLES- Debbie Mazzuca and THE CARE AND FEEDING OF AN ALPHA MALE-Jessica Clare I haven’t read them yet.
I like your covers, however, I seem to pick up the ones with a male pictured on them.
