This year has been a particularly interesting in the ways that I’ve been forced to stretch and grow. Not just professionally but also personally. My house is full of extra challenges these days and my writing life has gone from crazy in out-of-this-world chaos.
And here is another challenge. I was asked and accepted a chance to attend the Vancouver Writers Festival in Vancouver. I will be doing a two part panel. The first part of the panel is discussing Wattpad (who are sending me there) and other technology changes in the publishing world. Two other Wattpad authors are joining me as are two authors involved in other technologically advanced ebooks. Think travel books that take you live to places around the world and has imbedded videos and interactive illustrated books for iPad! I’m really looking forward to meeting these two gentlemen – and picking their brain.
Plus this panel is going to segue into indie versus traditional publishing. GULP! I’m the only indie there! (or hybrid author). The others are represented by agents and have or are seeking traditionally published contracts. So this could be an interesting, highly interactive session. This could be fun!
I am looking forward to going to the festival and soaking my psyche in that whole writer/reader thing. Conferences are both exhausting and exhilarating. This one seemed like it could be even more so.

The festival is not happening for six weeks yet so I have some time to prepare – that’s if that whole panic scenario at home and work calm down!!
If you were attending this session, what kind of questions would you ask me? Or do you have any ideas on the kinds of questions I might get asked. (Maybe six weeks isn’t enough time to prepare!)
