There’s just one thing missing from Gia Renyard’s life: sexual adventure. And the one man she’d like to have it with is her hot co-worker, Luke Monroe. If only company rules didn’t prohibit her from asking him out. So Gia comes up with a plan: make herself over into a fantasy seductress, follow Luke to a convention in Sin City, and have her way with him for one erotic weekend. The man will never even know who did him.
Everything is going according to plan—until Gia discovers that Luke is perfect for her outside the bedroom too. And suddenly she’s no longer content to let what happens in Vegas stay in Vegas…
This was my first book by Tawny Weber and it won’t be my last. Fearless was a fun novella full of romance and fantasy. Fantasy as in a sexual fantasy that the heroine, Gia, wants to partake in. She is jealous that her friends are having all the fun and she is just boring old Gia. She decides to do something about it with the guy she has been crushing on at work. However, when she seduces Luke under disguise, she finds there is a lot more to Luke than a sexual fantasy.
I don’t like books that are just about people hooking up so I was a little leery of this one. I need to feel the love and respect between a couple for it to work for me. I kept reading on and sure enough it was there. Luke and Gia both realize that they have more than just a physical connection. However, Gia leaves him after their time together and Luke is left feeling a little hurt. When they get back to work after their fun weekend, things take a turn and Gia is at risk for being found out by Luke. How can she possibly face him now?
Tawny does a great job of developing the plot and the characters in a novella, which can be hard since you have to pack a lot in a short time. I enjoy reading stories that take place in the corporate world (probably because I spend so much of time time in one!). Usually in contemporary romance we read about heroes that are either blue collar or are VP’s or CEO’s of some sort. While those are great, I like reading books where the hero and heroine have regular old jobs. It makes it more real. Gia’s friends are so fun and I really wish I had a group of girlfriends like them. They are supportive and encouraging but also hilarious and will tell it to you straight if that is what you need to hear. If you are looking for a quick, fun and sexy contemporary romance I recommend you give Fearless a try.
