I’ve been vamping with the vamps all week

Hi all,

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks between new releases and promo. Especially as I’ve been living in my vampire world for so much of the time. Book 4 of my Family Blood Ties series was on a rush as I had a huge promotion set for the first 3 books in the series – of course leaving me in deadline hell.

Now I really have fun writing these books. They are full of action in a world that I get to create the rules. World building is very empowering. Creating your rules where the characters are forced to deal with the restrictions I place on them. Depending on how my real life is going, those restrictions can be easy or tough. I get to choose. Except anyone who knows me, realizes that I have to be joking.

In reality, my characters tend to be the ones that set the rules. I often feel like the scribe not the storyteller. I write down the action as it rips forward and if I’m lucky I can get it all down before the story has streaked so far ahead I’ve lost parts of it.

Thankfully there are people out there who love the mess that pours out.

Vampire in Deceit (book 4 of Family Blood Ties)

Hurt and hurting, Tessa wages war against her own as she tries to protect those she loves and save those that can’t save themselves.

Ravaged by the constant attacks, afraid for her friends and family, Tessa is driven to the ends of her reserves as she strives to beat back the never ending wave of war. Thankfully she’s never alone…inside or out.

Kidnapped and injured, Cody struggles to escape and find the girl whose connection to his heart, mind and soul is growing by the moment. The chances of them all surviving this chaos are slim…but he just knows he can’t live without her.

Jared is determined to help his father and friends. He can’t leave them alone to their fate, even when his own life becomes endangered…again. Only this time, he has allies on his side…or does he?

The war unites humans and vamps as the war ratchets higher to a survival of the fittest…but the people most deeply involved can’t take any more. And then they find out the worst…

On sale now at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, ARe, Kobo. Also available in print!

Also the series, Family Blood Ties set – books 1-3 are still on sale right now for 99 cents.

Personally I love all things paranormal, ghosts, wings, fangs, even fairy dust and pixies.  What about you – how do you like your paranormals?

About Dale Mayer

Of course, she's dreaming to think she'll get a piece cheesecake once her four kids find out she's been baking!

I’m so busy with my own writing that I don’t read as much as I used to, but I like odd things now, like cats and dustbunnies. But for me, it’s always the writer. If she can make me love what she writes, that’s magic in any genre.

Congratulations on your new release. I know it will be wonderful! Yay!!!!

    Hi Edie,

I love cats and dustbunnies! This new paranormal series I’ve started is going to be different – I’d like to get some animals in – just not sure how much yet. Setting up a new series is always fun cause I get to make major rules in the worldbuilding. 😉

Congratulations on the new release, Dale. I am intimately aware of how your mind spews as I met you on Nano four years ago and just stood by in wonder as the word count zoomed out of sight. Love your covers. I picked up my copy of the trilogy earlier this week.

      Hi Livia!
Nano is such fun! Of course it helps if you have a dedicated psychotic muse to drag you through the days to the finish line! 😈

I admit to dragging my heels this year to the start line though. Could use a holiday on a warm beach for a few days first. 😎
