Happy Holidays from The Spider

First of all, I want to wish everyone a happy holiday season. Hope you all enjoy this time with family and friends. Safe travels, and stay warm out there. Cheers, everyone!

The SpiderI’m celebrating Christmas Eve with a new book release. The Spider, the 10th book in my Elemental Assassin urban fantasy series, has been released today, Dec. 24. Woot! Woot!

This is the second year in a row that I’ve had a book published at Christmas. Last year, Crimson Frost, the fourth book in my Mythos Academy young adult urban fantasy series, also came out a few days before Christmas.

The Spider is technically a January 2014 book, but many publishers release books on the last Tuesday before the publication month starts (or even earlier). So many January books will actually be hitting shelves and e-readers on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Hence my own holiday release date.

I’ve gotten a few comments from folks saying that they are going to give themselves the book for Christmas or buy it for someone else. I always love getting books for Christmas, and I think it is so cool that folks would enjoy my books and recommend them to their friends like that. I hope that the book entertains readers during their holiday break.

Here is the description for The Spider:

How did I end up in a career where I always have blood on my hands? Well, let me tell you a story about an assassin who thought she could do no wrong. . . .

Ten years ago. A blistering hot August night. I remember like it was yesterday. The night I, Gin Blanco, truly became the Spider. Killing people is what I do best, especially now that I’ve honed my Ice and Stone magic. But back then, I had yet to learn one very important rule: arrogance will get you, every single time.

This particular job seemed simple: murder a crooked building contractor with ties to ruthless Fire elemental Mab Monroe. My mentor, Fletcher Lane, had some misgivings, but I was certain that I had the situation under control . . . right up until I exposed my weaknesses to a merciless opponent who exploited every single one of them. There’s a reason assassins aren’t supposed to feel anything. Luckily, a knife to the heart can fix that problem, especially when I’m the one wielding it. . . .

The Spider is available in print, e-book, and audio book formats from retailers including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, iTunes, and Audible. You can read an excerpt here.

To celebrate the release date, I’m giving away a print copy of The Spider, U.S residents only. To enter, use the form below.
