Guest Blog: Harris Channing and Giveaway!

I’ve been privileged to know Harris Channing for quite a few years now. She’s a friend, a great author and a book cover artist. And we’re fortunate enough to have her here, celebrating her after Christmas day with us! Make sure to leave a comment for a chance to win en Ecopy of one of her books! Join me in welcoming Harris to the blog!

Stress?  What sort of person gets more writing done when they have less time?

My muse is contrary.  Free time is a time for playing with kids, napping, eating bon bons (and yes I have eaten them and they are good). Anything but writing…at least that’s how my muse works.  She’s a difficult witch, that’s for sure.

Holidays are probably the most stressful time of year.  So why is October 31st to January 2nd my most productive writing time? Hell, I don’t know!5631139_orig[1]

Trees to decorate, food to cook, cookies to bake, presents to buy and wrap…yep and then throw in the regular day job (which I love, btw.  I get to design book covers for SirenBookstrand), kids, homework, housework, laundry, a diabetic sixteen year old dog who needs to go outside a lot, a husband who works odd hours and then you have the muse…

With three baskets of laundry, Christmas cards to write, covers to design and yeah, I could use a shower she says, “Hey Harris, let’s write.  Just for a few minutes.”  And when she comes around, I listen…so that’s why I’m up at 2:55 a.m. in need of a shower but with my editing done9474515_orig[1] for the day and a couple thousand words under my belt, the dryer zooming and the kids, husband and dogs snoring. But hey, with things written and a revamped book ready to rerelease, it’s been a very successful day…who needs sleep anyway?

And to celebrate my rerelease, I feel generous…how about a couple lucky commenters getting a free download of that refreshed but oh so fresh rerelease?

It’s called SPEED TRAP.

What’s it about?  It’s about a cop, a girl, a stalker and a couple of dogs…

Here’s the blurb.  It works better:1387907919[1]

Abuse drove Libby away from Arkansas and right into White Springs, Tennessee and the arms of Officer Keith Davidson.

But can the instant attraction they feel for one another turn to something more?

And if it does, will her past come calling and ruin everything?

BTW, Speed Trap is Book 1 in the White Springs Collection

It’s a steamy contemporary, so if you like your romance sexy, you should give it a read…

I’m in the process of updating my website and stuff, but do feel free to take a look around.  I’ve got lots of stories just waiting for you to dive into.  The majority of them are less than a buck.  So, it’s a steal!

Here’s my website:

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that 2014 doesn’t suck!!

Harris, I hope you had a fabulous holiday. Congrats on all the good things happening with your career. My muse loves to strike at any time, so I commiserate with you. It’s a busy life, but a great one!

  9. Hi Harris! It’s nice to meet you. My muse usually strikes when I’m in the car driving and then, well, you might catch me at a red light jotting down notes, but don’t tell anyone I said that. Then I have to decipher said notes since I’m writing furiously before the light changes. *sigh* Happy writing in the new year!
