Free books!

DPIL192x288This is a happy time for readers with their first – or new – ereaders. They’re finding books by their favorite authors that aren’t available in physical stores anymore – and many are also discovering new authors because of free books. The_Fat_Cat_200x300_300dpiRecently, I’ve priced a couple of stories free at places that allow this. Dead People in Love (a Rescued Hearts short story) is free everywhere but B&N right now. (B&N and Amazon don’t allow authors to put up their books for free, but Amazon will often price match.) The Fat Cat (a Cattitude short story), is free several places but only 99 cents at Amazon. I hope Amazon will price match soon.

Dangerous DesignsOther Magical Musings’ authors have free books, too. From Dale Mayer: Sian’s Solution (Family Blood Ties), Dangerous Designs (Design series), and Tuesday’s Child (Psychic Visions).

a-bit-of-biteCynthia Eden: A Bit of a Bite and Bound By The Night (A Vampire/Werewolf Romance).

Lori Brighton: The Mind Readers, The Ghost Hunter (the Hunter series), A Night of Forever, A Novella (The Night Series), and Love Letters, Historical Romance.

CarneypunkJennifer Estep: Carneypunk: Parlor Tricks. (She also has The Bigtime Series (Bigtime superhero series, e-bundle) for only 99 cents! That’s 5 fantastic books in one boxed set!)

Dangerous SanctuaryMichelle Diener, Cynthia Eden, Lori Brighton and I also have books for 99 cents on Amazon and other places. I’m writing this on the day after Christmas, and different countries will have different prices, so some of the prices might not be the same when you check.

If you’re on Facebook and you want to keep up on bargain books, “like” the So Many Reads Facebook page. Amy R, a frequent guest reviewer here who also has her own own review site, shares deals with her Facebook followers. I plan to have a couple more books and stories free soon, so maybe Amy will report them. Or sign up for my newsletter on my website or “like” my Facebook page.

This is my last post for the year. It feels as if this year ended too soon. I got a lot done: published three new books, including two in my new Rescued Hearts series that I love, a boxed set of my first three Miracle Interrupted books, and I have a book in the Romance Super Bundle, with nine other authors (on sale for only 99 cents now!). Setbacks kept me doing more, but I’m proud of what I’ve done. Though I’m sorry to see 2013 go, I’m looking forward to 2014.

I wish all of you health, happiness, laughter – and good friends and great books! One of my resolutions for 2014 is to exercise more. I’m sitting too much, and I’m considering getting a treadmill desk. What about you? Are you making resolutions?

  1. Cool post! Thanks for mentioning everyone’s books. That was really nice of you. 😎

One of my resolutions is to read more books and whittle down my TBR pile. We’ll see if it actually happens, though. LOL.

    Hi Edie,

Thanks for the mention! Free books are a great way to get to know an author’s work. As for 2013, I am thinking we blinked and lost about 2 weeks in there somewhere because that’s how much time I need to finish all the 2013 year things! lol.

As for a treadmill desk – I was talking to my son about me buying a treadmill and him adapting a shelf for my laptop! lol. Great minds and all that… πŸ™‚

Dale, I think you did mention that to me about the treadmill desk! I recently heard something about it being better for your mental health as well as your physical, and that’s what kind of decided me to look into it further. I bet my husband could adapt a shelf for it, too. Maybe I could check out Craig’s list. With people getting new treadmill toys, they might be getting rid of the old ones.

As for 2 weeks catch-up time, I need about 2 months! 😯 That’s not going to happen, but I’ll try to do more this year. Hopefully my husband won’t run into any deer this year. And even if he does, he’s not riding his motorcycle, so it might not be as dangerous.

  5. Happy New Year, Edie! I, uh, just did a bit of shopping. πŸ™‚ Now to find some extra time to read. It’s crazy how big my TBR pile is.

Marilyn, considering the frigid weather outside, a desk treadmill is really sounding good to me. Thanks for the great wishes! Right back at you. πŸ™‚
