“I love you.”
I say it every day. Numerous times.
I say it to my hubby. To my kids. To my dog, Harry.
Actually, I usually say “I wuv you” to Harry. Don’t ask me why.
I say it to my friends in emails, texts, and cards… Love ya! xoxo
And I say it in blog comments and on Facebook and Twitter: I loved this post… I loved this book… I love cupcakes… Love this excerpt… Love your cover
It’s no surprise I love my family and friends. My writer pals. My readers. Oh, how I love my readers!
I also love writing and reading. I love editing (this has been an acquired taste, but right now I truly am loving it). I love my editors!
And I love the beach and the ocean and the sea air. I love staying up late and I love sleeping in. And running. I love to run. And then I love to eat. I love mochas and lattes and the sound of my hubby’s voice. I love wrapping up in a blanket and watching TV. I love quiet. I love music.
But sometimes – like many of us – I throw those words around too lightly. And I don’t think that’s a bad thing—because I do take the word love to heart. I never say it if I don’t have a fondness, warmth, or affection for the person/thing I’m speaking about. My mom taught me that if I didn’t have something nice to say, to not say anything at all. And I pride myself on living that way. Do I love that book cover as much as I love my dog? No.
Still, love is the one thing there can never be too much of.
And I hope all the people I share Love with know that I mean it. That there is thought and sentiment and purpose behind my “I love you.”
Because I do.
I really do.
So today I want to spread a little love. Leave me a comment about something you love and you’ll be entered to win a $5 Amazon or Barnes & Noble gift card. I’ll post the winner’s name on Thursday.
