Free Books!

I promised to do a giveaway every month. Author friends whose writing I love have free books – some permanently free. I have a novel and some short stories permafree most places, too. So my blog today is a list of some of those books. The links I’m posting will take you to Amazon US. I think most of the books listed will be free at different online booksellers or different Amazon stores. Have fun checking them out!

Um,yes, all the time! It seems the trend lately is for a book to be 99 cents for release week and then go up to the regular price (which is still cheap in my opinion), so I find myself buying a lot of books during release week…problem is, I don’t always get to read them since I have so many! At least I feel I can help a little, though, (even if you do make a penny off of it, if even). Thanks for the list! I learned pretty quick that price does not equal quality. I wish more readers were knowledgeable about that.

Amy, you bring up a good point. I’ve noticed that, too, about the 99 cent release. It gives the book visibility and puts it in a good position on the lists, which does help when the authors sell more when they raise the prices. And it also gets them reviews! As for quality, I could name smart and brilliant, bestselling authors who do that.

So far I haven’t done it out of the box. I’m not sure if I’ll do it with my next book or not. I’ll see.

Awesome list, Edie. Problem is, I have most of them. ;-)

Still, I think its terrific when an author is able to offer a book at a reduced (and often free) price. Keeps the reader interested … and like Amy R., fills up those E-Readers until you’re unsure which books you already have. I gotta take my Nook with me every time I go to the bookstore. Can’t tell you how often I double bought a book. Good for the author … not so much for me.

Liz, I was on jury duty today. I brought my Kindle with me. lol And if you buy books on Amazon, they will tell you if you already own it, and they won’t sell it to you then.

    Hey Edie,

That’s an awesome list! Wow, hard to believe that’s just a few of the books we even know about. I’ll check out a couple I didn’t know were there.

    Thanks for posting mine! :)

All the time. In some cases its just a great deal on a book Ive been wanting to read. In other cases its a great way for me to try new authors.
    So either way it works!
