Friday Favorites

UPDATE – Congratulations to Anita for winning the giveaway! She chose Veiled Target by Robin Bielman!

TGIF! I have to say, I really do love blogging on Fridays here at Magical Musings.

Friday Favorites at MM

Today I want to hear about some of your favorite things. To give you a little reward for sticking with me and answering some questions, I will give away one digital book from one of the Magical Musings authors (up to a $10.00 value) via Amazon! To enter, just answer any of the questions below. I will draw the winner on Sunday evening!

What is your favorite book genre? For me it would be a tie between romantic suspense and contemporary romance.

Do you have a favorite book couple? Mine would probably be Trevor and Cassandra Bauer from the Countermeasure Series by Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey. I don’t know what it is about them but I have loved them from the beginning of the series.

Do you have a favorite heroine from a book? This is tough for me, but I would say pretty much any heroine of Misty Evans. In my opinion, she just knows how to write kicka** heroines.

Do you have a favorite hero from a book? Absolutely. Conrad Flynn from Operation Sheba by Misty Evans. I don’t even know how to explain it but all heroes are compared to him when I read other books.

Do you have a favorite plot from a book? Where the story is just so different than anything you have read? This one is harder. I read a lot of great books. Probably the one that sticks with me as the most fascinating is Darcy Daniel’s Playing The Part.

Any other favorites in the book world you think we should talk about?

    Happy Friday, Amy!!

My favorite book genre is contemporary romance. I like historicals thrown in but majority of my reads are contemporary.

I’d have to say there’s a few but one of my absolute favorites is Chloe and Sawyer from Jill Shalvis’ Head Over Heels from her Lucky Harbor series. I really have tons of love for all the couples in that series but that book has always stuck out as one of the best!

Favorite heroine would be Beatrix Hathaway from Lisa Kleypas’ Love in the Afternoon. Favorite hero is tougher to pick but I’d probably go with Sawyer again! Hmm, favorite plot? I don’t think I have one! I read way too many books to pick just one 😀

Hi Anita! This is exactly why I asked these questions – to find out what other readers like, if we have similarities, etc. I love Jill Shalvis and Sawyer and Chloe are my favorites of all of her couples. That painting scene in that book was awesome. I have read the Travis Series by Lisa Kleypas. Jack is my favorite from that one. I haven’t read her other books yet, but need to give Love in the Afternoon a try! 🙂

Amy, great blog! My favorite genre is contemp romance, but I read all of the genres. (In fact, right now I’m reading a mystery.) As far as the rest, I have too many favorites to pick one. I have to pick one husband, but luckily I can be as slutty as I want with my book loves. 🙂

    • Amy R says:

Ha, Edie! I find my favorites are usually part of a series where I get to know them over several books. It makes it easier to feel like I know them. But, I would agree there are a lot of great ones to choose from. And just because I have a favorite doesn’t mean I don’t get to enjoy the others on the side. LOL. 🙂

Happy Friday, Amy! Thanks for the giveaway, and the fun questions 😀 I read a lot of mysteries, science fiction, paranormal romance and humor. I think any genre can be improved by putting a good romance in, lol. Hope you have a great weekend!

Mary, I so agree with you about a series improving by putting romance into it. In fact, I can read just about any genre as long as there is romance in it. I am not a huge PNR or Historical fan, but put some romance in it and I will give it a try. I am currently reading Outlander and have to say that some parts are a little slow for my liking, but the hot, romantic scenes in between sure make up for it. 🙂

  4. Although I prefer to read contemporary Rom and Suspense/Thriller stories, my favorite couple is from a paranormal series.
Gideon and Savannah from Lara Adrian’s Order of the Midnight Breed Series. They are special because they were the conduit to meeting Cecilia.
Thank you for loving Trevor and Cassandra. 🙂 They are pretty special to us, too. 😉
Chris Almeida`s last blog was …Ahoy!

    • Amy R says:

Ah, yes, Chris. Gideon and Savannah do seem like a great couple. I have only read their short novella and the first book in the Midnight Breed Series. Hoping to read more of those in the future and learn more about them. And keep writing about Trevor and Cassandra. I can’t get enough of them. 🙂

Ohh hope everyone had a happy Friday.

It’s a toss up between historical and contemporary romances for me. I tend to read one and then switch back and forth so I can enjoy the best of both worlds with a little paranormal thrown in for spice 🙂

Favorite book couple – I do have a few but the first one that comes to mind is Janie Morris and Quinn Sullivan from Penny Reid’s Neanderthal Seeks Human. Janie is totally a cooler version of me and Quinn is just…Quinn. Together, they are le sigh!

Favorite heroine is Lady Johanna from Julie Garwood’s Saving Grace. It was the first romance novel I had ever read and I loved how strong she was despite being thrown in with people so vastly different from herself and how she gave them reason to love and be loyal to her in return. Favorite hero is Kyle Rhodes from Julie James’ About That Night. He was just flat out swoon-worthy from page 1! Although the same can be said about all of Julie James’ heroes!!!

I have to admit though, I fall a little bit in love with all the characters I read, especially if it’s from one of my go-to, beloved authors!

  6. I don’t have a favorite genre, but since other folks have mentioned contemporary romance, one of my favorite books in that genre is Sugar Daddy by Lisa Kleypas. I really like that one and the rest of her Travis series.

    • Amy R says:

Oh, Jennifer, that is my favorite series by Lisa Kleypas. I had a VERY tough time reading Sugar Daddy. Such emotion in that one. Jack’s story was my favorite. 🙂

  7. Misty Evans says:

Amy, Conrad sends his love. 😀

Thank you for saying that about my heroines…I struggle writing every one of them. Honestly, writing heroes is so much easier for me, so it means a lot when a fan like you mentioned my heroine are kickass! I always want them to be strong with a dose of softness for the hero, no matter how damaged he is.

Hugs to you! You know Conrad wants to recruit you for his army!
