Ugh – it’s Black Friday!

It’s funny for my blogging day to land on Black Friday. I’m Canadian and that’s not been a big deal in Canada. That’s changing. And I don’t like it.

Then I’m not much of a shopper. I’d rather stay at home and avoid the winter roads, stressed out drivers, and crazy deal hunters. But every year that huge shopping frenzy gets a little bigger here and every year I cringe a little more. I am ordering more online now than ever. Honestly if I could get groceries delivered and count on the quality of the fruit and vegetables as if I’d picked them out myself – I’d get them delivered too. Wish I could get Lattes delivered.

There are a lot of things on my plate on any given day – and that plate is huge and overstuffed all the time. When I do have a break, shopping is not my choice of occupation. I’d rather walk beside the river or even just have a cup of java and relax. There will be other sales. But this moment is now and I want to enjoy it!

How about you – are you a sale shopper? A Black Friday shopper? Or an Internet shopper? I plan on spending Black Friday at home in front of a fire with a nice cup of coffee and a roaring fire – how about you?

I’ve gotten newsletters from a couple of authors who have their books on sale for black Friday. I thought that was interesting.

We bought a GPS last night online; it was nearly half the price of the original. My husband is going shopping today, and I might go with him, but I’m not sure. I don’t really want to go.

      Hi Edie!

I’ve seen several authors putting books on sale over the weekend. Interesting concept! Can’t say I’ve bought any books so far this holiday myself! Wow on the GPS that’s the way to buy it – online and half price!

    Hi, Dale,

I avoid stores after Halloween. Prices seem to be higher then and don’t go down until February. We try to get our gifts bought before November, or we buy online.

lol on the stores after Halloween! I wish! But with four kids… yeah, that doesn’t work so well for me. 🙂

I’d love to be done the shopping by the end of November and never quite manage it.

  3. I am not doing Black Friday. There is nothing that I need, want, or would like to have enough to get up early and brave the crowds. Not even books. LOL.

      Hi Jennifer!

A fellow nonshopper! YAY. I feel the same way! I am literally sitting in front of the fire with a coffee and watching the snow fall. 🙂 No way I’m going out there. lol.

  4. Happy Friday, Dale! I’m not a big shopper either and have never ventured out on Black Friday. I may do a little online shopping today, but otherwise I’m thinking it’s a great day to stay in my jammies! 🙂
