Special post: I got THE CALL :)))))

I have looked forward to this day for a long time.

I found my agent last year, the marvellous Marlene Stringer of Stringer Literary. She loved the kind of books I write. Loved them. I had been dreaming about finding an agent like her for a long time. Today, she called me to say the offer from Pocket Books we’d had on Tuesday was finalized, and we have a deal.

A TWO BOOK DEAL!!!!!

I feel like a thousand butterflies are colliding in my stomach every time I think about it.

This has been a 7 year journey. One that has had its shares of highs and lows, but which I honestly see more in terms of the craft I have learned and the wonderful, supportive, amazing writing friends I have made.

My two historical novels are scheduled for a Spring and Fall 2011 release. And I cannot stop smiling every time I think that, say that, or write that. Wooooooohoooooo!

To everyone who has helped me reach this point today, thank you. Your friendship, support, advice and generosity have helped make me the writer I am. And this journey is just beginning for me. I know from my published friends things only get more crazy from here on out, but I’m savouring this moment for what it is. The best day of my writing career so far!

A special thanks to Edie, Liz, Karin and LaDonna, and to Amy, Maya, Jan and Allison, who were there right at the beginning of my journey and have been my friends ever since.

    Congratulations on your call, when I saw the message on the RomAus loop I thought, she came to the Perth Roadshow last year.

    I looked back on your archives and you had posted about what a great day you had. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully you can make this years. Sadly I won’t be able to as I’ve moved to Houston, USA.

    I know lots of organising is going on at the moment, I miss being involved.
